Out of School Settings – Inspection Outcomes

Ofsted inspectors assess out of school settings based solely on the overall effectiveness of their early years provision, as these settings are not required to follow the learning and development aspects of the EYFS.

There are three possible inspection outcomes:

Met – The setting meets all required standards.

Not Met (with actions) – The setting falls short but can improve quickly with specific guidance.

Not Met (with enforcement) – Serious concerns about children's health, safety, or well-being result in a welfare requirements notice and a follow-up inspection to ensure compliance.
